WPP Digital Acquires Blue State Digital

Blue State Digital, the interactive ad shop best known for managing then-candidate Obama’s online advertising efforts, has been acquired by WPP Digital, the investment arm of the ad holding company. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. WPP plans to use the New York-based agency to build up its cause-marketing business. In a statement, Thomas Gensemer, managing partner of BSD, said that company is looking toward extending its work for both non-profit and for-profit clients as well as seeking assistance from WPP’s executives and talent as part of the agency’s growth plans.
