WikiLeaks Alternative OpenLeaks Goes Live Following Site Leak

According to Fox News, an unnamed snitch recently leaked details concerning the WikiLeaks alternative OpenLeaks, to yet another whistleblower site called Cryptom. OpenLeaks reportedly just happens to be the brainchild of Daniel Domscheit-Berg, who previously operated as the "deputy" to head-man Julian Assange at WikiLeaks.

OpenLeaks plans a larger beta launch in the second half of 2011, but it's apparently already "drowning in applications." Domscheit-Berg hopes OpenLeaks provides an accurate and forthright alternative to WikiLeaks, which he claims has "lost its open source promise." Late last year, Domscheit-Berg explained to OWNI that OpenLeaks will be more transparent, which -- given the predecessor's troubling history -- should definitely be a reasonable goal.
